The Fee
The first spiritual direction session is a time for the two parties to determine if this is a good fit for both of us. This initial meeting is free. At this time you can discuss an appropriate stipend which is for the director’s time and training. If cost is a concern, please share this with Lori to see what could be worked out. Financial hardship should not be a barrier to experiencing spiritual direction.

Payments can be made by cash or check. Debit/credit cards are also accepted via Square Up. Please do not post-date checks and please pay at the start of the session. It can be uncomfortable having to remind someone to pay just as he/she is walking out the door.

If we meet via Zoom or phone, payments can be made via Square or mailed prior to your session to Soul Dig, Dr. Lori Tate, 1433 Wickwire Rd., Jackson, MI 49201.

NOTE: If you schedule a session and do not keep the appointment, there is a cancellation fee. See the cancellation policy below.

The Cancellation Policy
Soul Dig is my primary source of income that I depend on for my family’s provisions. By choice, I arrange my schedule — childcare, transportation, and other obligations – so I can meet and be present with you.

I encourage you to treat your spiritual direction session just like you would an appointment with your doctor, dentist or beautician. Bring your calendar to each session so that you can record your next appointment. If you are running late to an appointment, a phone call or text is most appropriate and appreciated.

I understand unanticipated events happen in everyone’s life – illness or car problems are just a few reasons why one may need to cancel an appointment or reschedule. In my desire to be effective and fair to all of my clients, I have adopted the following policies:

  1. 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. This allows me the opportunity to schedule someone else for that time slot.
  2. If weather is a reason for canceling, you will be given the option to meet via phone or electronically. If you choose not to use these options you can cancel your session.
  3. If you do not give me a 24-hour advance notice you will still be responsible to pay for your scheduled session. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
  4. If you are thinking of ending your spiritual direction sessions this is decision we can discern together.
