Individual Direction<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]Spiritual direction is a process of accompanying people on their spiritual journey and helping them grow closer to God. It is a three way relationship between the directee, spiritual director and the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

THE “REAL” SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR IS GOD.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The human spiritual director sits on behalf of the directee listening for God\u2019s invitation for a deeper relationship.<\/p>\n

Spiritual direction offers a safe, non-judgmental place for the directee to share his and her life experiences, which is \u201cGod\u2019s daily curriculum.\u201d Through prayer and reflection on \u201cGod\u2019s daily curriculum\u201d a deeper personal awareness emerges. As this new awareness is articulated and shared, a spiritual director can assist the directee to notice even more about his or her deepening relationship with God.<\/p>\n

Ultimately spiritual direction helps individuals learn how to live in peace and bring about the restoration of creation through compassion, promoting justice, and as humble servants.<\/p>\n

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION PREPARATION QUESTIONS
\n<\/strong><\/em>\u2013 adapted from Dr. Bruce Tallman<\/em><\/p>\n

The following questions can help you prepare for your spiritual direction session:
\n1. Where am I now in my life \u2013 my personal life, my professional life,
\nmy creative life, my relationships? Am I where I want to be in all of these
\nareas of my life?
\n2. What brought me to this place in my life that I am seeking spiritual
\ndirection?
\n3. What are questions, doubts, confusions?
\n4. How has my spiritual life been in the past few months? Rich, full, boring,
\nunsettling?
\n5. What events, experiences and\/or relationships draw me towards
\nGod? What draws me away from God?
\n6. How do I feel about my relationship with God, and about God\u2019s
\nrelationship with me right now?
\n7. Which life decisions have me wondering what God\u2019s will is for me?
\n8. In what area(s) of my life do I sense God calling me to grow or to let go
\nof something?
\n9. How have I been connecting with God, my soul, or the universe in the
\npast few months (prayer, meditation, music, nature, etc)? How often,
\nand how satisfying have each of these experiences been? Is it as fulfilling\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0as I\u2019d like?
\n10. How can my spiritual director help me address the empty or uncertain
\nareas of my life, so that I can feel vibrant, whole and connected once
\nmore?
\n11. Is there anything else I would like to talk about with my spiritual
